The recent Supreme Court decisions in Alice, Myriad, and Mayo, as well as the USPTO's 2014 Interim Guidance on Subject Matter Eligibility, have provided useful, albeit incomplete, clues to patent practitioners on how to navigate what many still view as unchartered waters. Learn strategies for drafting new applications to best position them to overcome the Section 101 challenges posed by Alice. Also, for applications that were drafted before Alice, learn how to draft continuations-in-part that retrofit those applications to survive Alice. This webinar will additionally provide an update of the current state of the law concerning Section 101, including a summary of relevant District Court and Federal Circuit decisions that have issued subsequent to the USPTO Guidance. Presented by: Charles Bieneman of Bejin Bieneman, PLC; Alain Villeneuve of Vedder Price, PC; and Matt Weinstein of Accenture.
